On April 26, 2018, DETECt took the first step. In the course of two days, the entire DETECt Consortium \u2013 including 13 academic partners, 3 professional partners, and 2 cultural institutions from all around the continent \u2013 gathered in Bologna<\/a>, Italy, for the project\u2019s kick-off meeting. 12 months later, in March 2019, the members of the DETECt consortium met in Belfast<\/a> for the project’s first yearly meeting.<\/p>\n The second project\u2019s meeting should have taken place in Bucharest at the end of April but the current COVID-19 crisis has overthrown this as well as other planned activities.\u00a0 We are now rethinking some of DETECt\u2019s premises and perspectives to identify the best ways to make our research more relevant to this unexpected and unprecedented scenario, which we will be facing in the next months and, likely, until the end of the project.\u00a0Since coronavirus travel restrictions to protect the public health and contain the spread of the virus do not allow face-to-face meetings, we have planned to hold the project\u2019s second yearly meeting online.<\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner admin_label=”Riga” custom_padding=”0px|||” _builder_version=”3.5.1″][et_pb_column_inner type=”1_2″ saved_specialty_column_type=”3_4″][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.detect-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/edx101.jpg” show_in_lightbox=”on” _builder_version=”3.5.1″ box_shadow_style=”preset2″ custom_margin=”30px|||”] On April 23 and 24, we will all meet by video conference to review the work done during the second year of the project and plan future initiatives. The intense agenda includes a thorough discussion of activities included in all the DETECT\u2019s Work Packages<\/a>, as well as of cross-cutting issues going from live initiatives \u2013 like DETECt\u2019s final conference in Roma, scheduled in June 2021 \u2013 to online activities, with particular attention to the promotion of the project\u2019s learning community and distance learning offer.<\/p>\n The latter implies a varied package of innovative dissemination tools<\/a>\u00a0and teaching resources<\/a>, including the forthcoming DETECt MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) focused on \u201cTransculturality and Identity in European Popular Crime Narratives\u201d, that is expected to be delivered in early 2021.
