The seminar will be structured into two parts.
\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner custom_padding=”0px|||” admin_label=”Riga” _builder_version=”3.5.1″][et_pb_column_inner type=”1_2″ saved_specialty_column_type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_image src=”http:\/\/www.detect-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/7caafa62006451.5a81bd3484258.png” show_in_lightbox=”on” _builder_version=”3.5.1″ box_shadow_style=”preset2″ custom_margin=”30px|||”][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column_inner][et_pb_column_inner type=”1_2″ saved_specialty_column_type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.5.1″]In the first part, project coordinator Monica Dall\u2019Asta and Federico Pagello from the University of Bologna will present the project and explore the relationships between the Italian \u201ccrime\u201d and the identity of Mediterranean noir.<\/p>\n

In the second, Massimiliano Coviello, Elisa Mandelli, and Valentina Re from the Link Campus University of Rome will discuss the prime-time tv show \u201cL\u2019allieva\u201d as a challenging example to describe the process conducting from the research objectives to the selection of case studies.<\/p>\n

This second edition of \u201cMediating Italy in Global Culture\u201d offers an intensive learning experience where graduate and post-graduate students have the opportunity to consolidate their theoretical and methodological skills and engage in thought-provoking conversations on the forms of production, distribution, circulation, and reception contributing to the \u201cmediation\u201d of the Italian audiovisual culture in the United States, the United Kingdom, and various other national contexts.<\/p>\n

This week-long program, in addition to offering lectures, seminars and roundtables on specific topics and case histories, provides students with the opportunity to present their research and partake in discussions with fellow colleagues and international faculty.
\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner custom_padding=”0px||0px|” admin_label=”Riga” _builder_version=”3.5.1″ custom_margin=”0px||0px|”][et_pb_column_inner type=”4_4″ saved_specialty_column_type=”3_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.5.1″]The Summer School will address the forms of media representations associated with Italy, as well as their manipulation by cultural industries, fandoms, and opinion leaders. The program also investigates the modes of consumption of these representations, both by targeted and defined audiences as well as by mainstream and generic ones.<\/p>\n

The program will focus on the complex imageries and socio-cultural constructions of the brand \u201cMade in Italy\u201d spread by film, television and digital media, as well as by other cultural and creative industries such as design, fashion and food. In particular, light will be shed on the crucial framing role played by foreign countries in the popularization of Italy\u2019s representations around the world.\u00a0Lectures, seminars, and activities will delve, thus, into a variety of themes and media, including:<\/p>\n
