Freedom of Information Act utilized with NYC Parks

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 03, 2011

On 09/02/2011 we requested a meeting with Micheal Dockett from NYC Parks Department so we can discuss opening new parks for metal detecting and to remove restricions on the upcoming 2012 permit.

In prearation for our meeting, on 09/03/2011 we emailed Any Kleitman from NYC Parks Department and requested the following under the Freedom of Information Act:

Dear Ms. Kleitman: This is a formal request under the "Freedom of Information Act" for the following information/documents.

  • Permission to review all documents showing evidence of damage to trees in New York City Parks, caused by other than natural events. for the period January 1, 2010 to the date of this request.
  • Permission to review all correspondence, both incoming and outgoing, that references or evidences damage to trees caused by the specific activity of metal detecting, for the period January 1, 2010 to the date of this request.
